Terms and Conditions of Rental – navos.gr
General Provisions
Every reservation made through navos.gr is subject to verification and confirmation. You will be notified by email or phone regarding the verification of the driver's details and the availability of the vehicle within 24 hours of submitting your reservation. Reservations are for a vehicle category and not a specific model. In case of unavailability of the confirmed category, navos.gr reserves the right to provide a higher category vehicle at no extra charge.
1. Age and Driver Limits
• Cars: Drivers aged 23 to 70.
• Scooters/Motorcycles: Drivers aged 20 to 60.
Note: For drivers aged 21–23 or over 65 (for cars), additional charges or restrictions may apply, subject to agreement.
2. Driver's License
A valid driver's license issued at least 12 months prior to the start of the rental is required. Licenses from EU countries, the United Kingdom, Russia, and other European countries are accepted. For licenses from other countries, an international driving permit (IDP) or prior approval from navos.gr is required.
3. Payment Methods
The rental fee is paid upon receipt of the vehicle and can be paid in cash, by debit or credit card. Navos.gr reserves the right to request a deposit upon booking.
4. Credit Card Guarantee
A valid credit card in the name of the main driver is required for the deposit. The pre-authorization amount varies by vehicle category:
• Category A and B cars: €500
• Cars in categories C1, D, D1, E, F: €750
• Scooters 110–150cc: €200
• 300cc scooter: €300
• Other motorcycles: €400
The deposit amount is temporarily blocked and released after the vehicle is returned, provided there is no damage or violations.
5. Rental Period
The minimum rental period is one (1) day (24 hours). During the high season (June–September), the minimum rental period may be two (2) days, depending on availability and vehicle category. Extension of the rental requires prior approval from navos.gr. In case of late return without prior notification, a charge equal to the cost of one additional day will be imposed, plus any additional charges for delay.
6. Fuel Policy
The vehicle is delivered with a specific fuel level and must be returned with the same level. In case of a lower level, the renter will be charged the difference, based on current fuel prices, plus an administrative fee of €10. Excess fuel will not be refunded.
7. Road Assistance
24-hour roadside assistance is provided for all vehicles, covering mechanical breakdowns. The service does not cover problems arising from driver negligence (e.g. loss of keys, wrong fuel).
8. Mileage Limits
The rental price includes a limit of 100 km per day. When booking, the renter can choose a package with a limit of 200 km per day or unlimited kilometers, at an additional charge, depending on the vehicle category. Exceeding the selected limit is charged at €0.20/km for cars and €0.10/km for scooters/motorcycles.
9. Child Seats & Accessories
Child seats and other accessories are available upon request, at an additional charge, subject to timely reservation.
10. Additional Guides
Ο πρώτος πρόσθετος οδηγός περιλαμβάνεται δωρεάν. Για κάθε επιπλέον οδηγό πέραν του δεύτερου, επιβάλλεται χρέωση 3 €/ημέρα. Όλοι οι οδηγοί πρέπει να πληρούν τις ίδιες προϋποθέσεις (ηλικία, άδεια οδήγησης) και να δηλώνονται κατά την παραλαβή του οχήματος.
11. Taxes
All prices include 24% VAT and other applicable taxes. There are no hidden charges, unless they arise from a breach of the rental terms.
12. Pickup/Delivery Outside Business Hours
Pickup or delivery outside of business hours (9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.) is available at the following rates:
• 9:00 p.m.–11:59 p.m.: €10
• 00:00–08:59: €30
13. Traffic Violations & Fines
The renter is solely responsible for any traffic violations or fines incurred during the rental period. Navos.gr will charge an additional administrative fee of €20 for the handling of each fine.
14. Cancellation Policy
• Cancellation at least 7 days in advance: Full refund.
• Ακύρωση από 24 ώρες έως 7 ημέρες πριν: Χρέωση ίση με το κόστος μίας ημέρας ενοικίασης.
• Cancellation less than 24 hours in advance or no-show: No refund. Cancellations must be made in writing via email to [email at navos.gr].
15. Cross-border Travel & Transportation by Ship
Vehicles are not permitted to leave Greece. Vehicle transport by ship is only permitted with written approval from navos.gr and may incur an additional charge.
16. Vehicle Cleanliness
Vehicles are delivered clean and must be returned in a reasonably clean condition. In case of excessive dirt or damage to the interior, a biological cleaning fee will be charged, ranging from €50 to €150, depending on the extent of the damage.
17. Traffic Accident
In the event of an accident, the renter is required to immediately notify the police and navos.gr, as well as to submit an accident report. Otherwise, the renter bears full responsibility for any damages or claims.
18. Insurance
a. Civil Liability
Included in the rental price and covers damage or bodily injury to third parties, in accordance with Greek law.
b. Comprehensive Insurance with Excess (C.D.W.)
Optional, limits the renter's liability for damage to the vehicle:
• Categories A, B: €600
• Categories C1, D1, E, F: €800
• Scooters 110–150cc: €400
• 300cc scooter: €600
• Other motorcycles: €800
c. Theft Protection
Optional, with the following charges:
• Category A and B cars: €10/day
• Cars in categories C1, D1, E, F: €12/day
• Scooters 110–150cc: €6/day
• 300cc scooter: €8/day
• Other motorcycles: €12/day
19. Damages Not Covered by Insurance
The following cases are not covered by any insurance and the renter bears full responsibility:
• Violation of the Highway Code (KOK).
• Negligence or careless driving.
• Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other substances.
• Use of the vehicle by an unauthorized driver.
• Damage to the interior of the vehicle.
• Loss or damage to keys, child seats, or other accessories.
• Lost key: In case of lost key, the renter will be charged a fee ranging from €100 to €300, depending on the type of key (e.g., standard, remote control, smart key) and the location of the vehicle at the time of loss (e.g., additional transportation costs to remote areas).
• Rental of two keys: If the renter has requested and received two keys, the loss of one or both keys will be charged separately at the same cost range (€100–€300 per key), depending on the type and location.
• Use of unsuitable fuel or incorrect charging (for electric vehicles, if applicable).
20. Undercarriage and Tires
The renter is responsible for any damage to the underside of the vehicle (e.g., suspension, exhaust, oil) or to the tires (e.g., cuts, punctures) caused by negligence, such as driving on unpaved roads, beaches, or unsuitable surfaces. Such damage is not covered by insurance, unless otherwise agreed, and the renter will be charged the full cost of repair or replacement.
21. Prohibition of Use for Illegal Activities
It is prohibited to use the vehicle for illegal activities, including racing, transporting illegal materials, or any purpose contrary to Greek law.
22. Smoking/Pets Policy
Smoking is prohibited inside the vehicle. Pets are allowed only with prior approval and with the use of appropriate equipment.
23. Acceptance of Terms
By signing the rental agreement, the renter declares that they fully accept these terms and conditions.
